THIS IS PROOF POSITIVE THAT THERE IS NO god. FOR IF THERE WAS A god AND HE LET THIS HAPPEN, THEN HE IS THE LOWEST SCUMBAG OF EXISTANCE, A BIG MOTHER FUCKING COCKSUCKER.
MINNEAPOLIS ---- PROSECUTOR: A Woman fatally beats boy, 4. A woman beat her cousins 4 year old son to death while two of her own children held him down and a third child watched. All because he soiled his pants. Carla Cherisse Poole, 37, is charged with second degree intentional murder in the death of Demond Keith Reed whose body was found wrapped in plastic and stuffed into a canvas bag. Poole " brutally beat him in front of her own children." Pooles 6 year old son told police Poole made him and her 4 year old child hold Demond down by the arms while she beat him. The criminal complaint said Demond had injuries inside his mouth that were consistent with a blunt object being shoved in it, rib fractures, puncture wounds to his stomach, a bite mark on his stomach, and bleeding inside his brain. A homicide investigator interviewed Poole after advising her of her rights and she eventually confessed to killing the boy.
WHERE WAS THE GOD WHO IS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT LITTLE CHILDREN.?? I guess god couldn't be in Minneapolis yesterday... he was too busy elsewhere... I guess he can explain that to 4 year old Demond Reed when he gets up there, right. Can't you just see this so called god trying to explain to the little 4 year old boy, why he didn't protect him. (Well it's like this Demond, I'm a very busy man.") Hopefully the Christian devil will take Poole " Straight to Hell."
ATLANTA ---- Tennesseeans reacted with humor, anger and defiance to Georgia's legislative attempt to move the border north so the drought plagued state can tap into the Tennessee River. Sen. David Shafer and Rep. Harry Geisinger introduced resolutions to in essence, move the state line a mile north which would run the border right through a bend in the river. Then, the legislators say, Georgia could send billions of gallons of water to parched Atlanta without Tennessee's permission.
Shafer, Geisinger and others say an " erroneous " survey completed in 1818 placed the border 1.1 miles below what Congress had earlier established as the boundary. Virtually every Georgia legislator signed on to the resolutions which direct Gov. Sonny Perdue to remedy the border dispute with his Tennessee counterpart. " While we know that this proposal is not a short-term remedy to our current drought situation, Gov. Perdue is open to looking at all options as we plan for Georgia's long term future needs."
Gov. Perdue hasn't scheduled talks with Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredsen. Bredsen, busy dealing with the aftermath of this weeks deadly tornadoes in his state, couldn't be reached for comment. The resolutions also seek creation of a boundary line commision, made up of legislators from Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina (which shares a border with both states). Most people in the Tennessee legislature understand this is a publicity stunt, but my constituents don't think that." said Sen. Andy Berke. "They don't think this is an appropriate action for the Georgia legislature to take.
Shafer said it is no trifling matter. The correct boundary was set by congress two centuries ago and the error must be corrected. The boundary of the state is the boundary of the state and can only be changed by acts of the Tennessee and Georgia legislatures and of the U.S Congress. It cannot be changed by a mathematician with a faulty compass. Georgia's predicament took on added importance with a ruling by a federal appellate court curtailing Georgia's access to Lake Lanier, metro Atlanta's primary water source...
" Certainly it puts us in a difficult position, said Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, who supports the Georgia legislature. The crux of Georgia's complaint revolves around a flawed survey conducted in 1818 and never accepted by the state of Georgia. Some surveyors, politicians and attorneys on both sides of the border agree that the state line runs too far south. I'd heard that the survey is in error, but the simple fact of the matter is that you don't re-write almost 200 years of history because you want to."
Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield scoffed at Georgia's legislative broadside, adding that boundaries, like other intrastate disputes, must ultimately be resolved by congress or the federal courts.
CHICAGO ---- The safety of the anti - wrinkle injection Botox is being called into question. U.S. drug safety regulators put the product under review after reports of death or serious reactions, the most severe in children taking the product for spasms related to cerebral palsy.
The FDA said there is no need for health professionals to discontinue prescribing Botox or a similar treatment known as Mobloc. Some doctors say the dosages used to treat such spasms are far higher than those used for cosmetic reasons, suggesting less reason to worry about the product as a treatment for wrinkles and facial lines.
The agency did not focus attention on the risk to cosmetic users, but said the inestigation is in early stages. The most severe reactions were found in unapproved uses for children treated for spasticity in their limbs associated with cerebral palsy. The products have been linked in some cases to adverse reactions, including respiratory failure and death. The FDA said doctors and their patients should be on the lookout for signs of the difficulty of swallowing, weakness and breathing problems.
" This is another serious reminder for people that you need to have a serious conversation with you doctor because there are risks and benefits to every procedure." It reminds patients and consumers that you need to talk to your doctor to see if there are potential risks to using Botox. There are obviously benefits.
Botox and Myobloc, known as botulinum toxins, block the impulses of nerves and therefore cause them to relax. The toxins can spread beyond the injection site to other parts of the body, which doctors and the FDA say can weaken muscles used for breathing and swallowing and potentially be harmful. Eventually, the toxins become metabolized in the body and are broken down, doctors say. But the toxins potential of spreading to other parts of the body can be worrisome........
NEW DATA MAY HELP EXPLAIN SOME MYSTERIES, SUCH AS HABITABILITY OF OTHER PLANETS.
This year we elect a new president, check out China during the Olympics, get an extra day on Feb. 29th and watch Harrison Ford don a fedora again as Indiana Jones. Also, 2008 is loaded with some highly anticipated events in the world of science. Here's a sneak peek at a few mysteries we may begin to unravel this year, along with some noteworthy landmark events.
RISE OF THE MEGACITY. For the first time in history, more than half of the worlds population, about 3.3 billion people, are living in urban areas, as of 2008, according to the United Nations Population Fund. The world's five largest urban areas ( cities plus suburbs ) are now Tokyo, New York City, Seoul, Mumbai, India, and Jakarta, Indonesia, says Demographia's " World Urban Areas " report.
HEAVENLY VIEWS.. Saturn will be at its closest to the Earth on Feb. 24th, and Jupiter will be nearest on july 9th. You can see both with the naked eye, but its worth finding a friend with a telescope to look at Saturns awe-inspiring rings, especially if your viewing them for the first time.
WEIGHTY MATTER. Physicians have yet to prove the all important key to the origin of particle mass, known as the Higgs boson. Thought to be the particle that gives all other things their mass, the Higgs boson finally might be observed in experiments involving the extremely powerful Large Hadron Collider, a particle smasher that's scheduled to begin operating in May in Geneva.
ANOTHER EARTH.?? Researchers will soon get their hands on a cornucopia of results from the European COROT telescope when more data is released to the scientific community. The burning question, Are there Earth like planets outside our solar system?? So far, scientists have spotted 270 planets around other suns, but conditions on those planets aren't thought to be capable of harboring life as we know it. Because COROT is finding planets about the size of Earth, 2008 could be the year when we find another habitable world. Similar data may come from sites closer to home, such as Mars. NASA's Phoenix spacecraft is expected to land there on May 25. The Phoenix will use a robotic arm to dig into the polar cap, If ice is found there, it could be an indication that Mars has supported life.
GOLDEN ANNIVERSARIES.. NASA turns 50 this year. Established July 29th,1958., by the National Aeronautics and Space Act, NASA has sent 12 men to walk on the moon, launched, 120 space shuttles, and guided dozens of spacecraft to explore our solar system, including to each of the other seven planets. Also celebrating its big 5 - 0 is the Keeling Curve, a graph that illlustrates increasing carbon dioxide levels over time. It provided the first clear evidence that atmospheric carbon dioxide was accumulating and helped solidify the science of global warming. The first data point was recorded in March 1958 at an observatory atop Hawaii's Mauna Loa.
